Location:           976 SENECA AVENUE, RIDGEWOOD, NEW YORK, 11385

Hours:                Up to 19 hours/Week; Non-Exempt

                           10-month school-year position (September – June)


Job Summary:  The Vocal Activity Instructor will form a chorus while following and integrating the Good Shepherd prescribed curriculum and prepare students to present their work at the end of each cycle.


Major Duties:

  • Design, plan and conduct vocal activities and workshops.
  • Submit lesson/ activity plans monthly.
  • Plan and implement a culminating event or project.
  • Completes weekly progress reports.
  • Responsible for setup, operation and clean up of activities and the organization, inventory and storing of relevant supplies and equipment.
  • Attends all staff meetings and staff development training sessions, as specified.
  • Guides program participants in examining choices, following directions and becoming involved in program activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



  • High School diploma or GED required and demonstrable expertise and experience in music.
  • Guitarist or vocalist preferred but not required.
  • Excellent group facilitation skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Experience working with high school youth a plus.
