The Receptionist will take telephone calls and receive visitors in courteous and professional manner at all time, and provide clerical support to staff, whenever needed. Opportunity for extended hours by filling when support staff are out. The policy of confidentiality regarding client information must be strictly adhered to.




Location:       685 East 187th St. Bronx, NY 10458


Hours:           18 hours, non-exempt (Mon- Thu 11:30-3:00; Fri: 1:00-5:00)


Major Duties:

  • Greet and announce participants and guests upon arrival.
  • Answer and direct all incoming calls to appropriate staff.
  • Monitor sign-in/sign-out list of staff.
  • Enter intake information into appropriate computer based system to register an Advocates case.
  • Assist with petty cash.
  • Process all interoffice and out going mail each night.
  • Assist in gathering data and compile statistical information for program reports.
  • Assist with any computer support needed.
  • Conduct monthly fire drills.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies.
  • Other duties as needed.



  • High School Diploma required.
  • Spanish speaking required.
  • Must have ability to interact in a positive and courteous manner with all visitors and callers to the agency.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Must have a commitment to work from a strength based and/or youth development perspective.
