The Substance Abuse Specialist (Social Worker/LMSW) assesses new intakes for substance abuse, provides individual and group counseling, education, prevention and referrals to outside resources as well. The Substance Abuse Specalist will provide clinical expertise to the treatment team and others on the matter of substance abuse and treatment and recovery. Social Service delivery is to be consistent with Good Shepherd Services Philosophy, the function and tasks of the RIC (Rapid Intervention Center) and Marian Hall Group Residence and within any city and state mandates.
